DR. CARLOS M. HORTELANO

Dr. Carlos M Hortelano is the Chief Scientific Officer Europe. He has more than 20 years of experience in the CRO business, mainly in positions associated with Data Management, Data Analyses and Data Reporting. Based on his former responsibilities for Clinical Data Management departments in his professional career coupled with his specialization in epidemiology, Dr. Carlos M Hortelano contributes with holistic view on the entire process of study design, data capture, data handling and results presentation and regulatory considerations to implement synergies and innovative approaches. Dr. Carlos M Hortelano also has substantial experience in design and assessment of patient-reported outcomes, questionnaire validation, and as medical lead in the negotiation with key regulatory authorities including EMA. Dr. Carlos M Hortelano holds a Medical Degree from Univ. Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and a postdoctoral training in Epidemiology. He has a long teaching experience, activity which he enjoys a lot, and he is currently one of the referees in Methods for Elsevier-Medicina Clinica, the journal with the highest impact factor in Spain
