Lara Lopez recently celebrated her 20 year anniversary with Linical and has seen many changes to the way clinical trials are conducted, as well as growth and progression at Linical. We spoke to Lara recently to learn more...
Q: Having recently celebrated your 20th anniversary with Linical, what is the one thing you are most proud of during your time here?
"One of the things I am most proud of during all these years at Linical is knowing the positive impact of the work we have done, and how this has impacted people’s health. Knowing patients’ well-being, quality of life, or outcomes have improved thanks to new medications or procedures is really meaningful and rewarding. Research is important for advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care, and I am really proud to support it."
Q: What makes Linical a special place to work and what do you enjoy most about working at Linical?
"One of the things that make Linical special is the people working at the company. The way we collaborate, help each other, and share knowledge creates an environment where everyone can professionally grow, learn new things every day, and feel supported. I really enjoy being part of the Linical team and working with my colleagues, some of whom I have worked with since the very beginning - so for 20 years now."
Q: What are the most significant ways that Linical has evolved over the past 20 years?
"Linical has changed a lot over the last 20 years. One of the biggest changes has been digitalization and technology advancements. When I started as a CRA trainee we did not have general access to mobile devices or laptops, the CRFs were in paper form, and we received patient inclusion notifications via fax. The adoption of digital tools and technologies has transformed the way we work, improving collaboration and efficiency, making trials more efficient, and will continue to do so in the upcoming years."
Q: How do you see our industry changing in the future and what changes do you think we will see at Linical?
"I think that clinical research will keep focusing more on patients and will keep advancing on the technology front. Clinical research will continue to evolve toward greater innovation, supported by digital tools. Linical will be aligned with these changes, adapting new methodologies, embracing collaboration and technology, and promoting the continuous learning and talent development."
